I was exactly the same, baby measuring 3 weeks ahead at scan & by fundal height last week. I'm not too worried about the size as I know both measurements are not terribly accurate, but I'm a little concerned about GD. I have no symptoms, though, so am waiting a couple of weeks for my next midwife appointment to get bloods done.

Ours was 3lb 3oz at 29 weeks, my consultant just said she's a good weight. The estimates from scans can be up to a lb out so not terribly accurate, I've got another scan tomorrow so will see how big she is now!! X

I wish people would stop associating all big babies with gd. Yes, a big baby can be a consequence of gd, but not always. I have gd and my baby is measuring right on average. Some people just have big babies. It doesn't help people's understanding of gd if everyone starts to 'panic' about it if their baby measures a bit on the big side.

I have already had 2 'big babies' my last was 9lb born at 40 weeks..my major concerns are if i have any complications i wont be able to have my homebirth that im so desperate for so im just hoping the baby isnt going to get too big and cause complications...not that he will.

29 weeks baby should be about 3 lbs so your just a bit above. Personally I would prefer a big thriving baby than a small sickly one. Try to be optimistic. GL

I would try not to worry, I know it's hard. I have GD and my baby weighs 3 lbs 6 oz and I am 30 weeks. The Dr and u/s tech said it's completely normal and that he is in the 45th percentile, so basically right in the middle. Sometimes they can grow at a fast rate then the weight gain may slow down, or vice versa. But getting checked out to make sure you don't have GD is a safe plan. I honestly never ever would have thought I would have it, I had no symptoms and my baby has been measuring fine all throughout the pregnancy. But if it goes undiagnosed and untreated, then the baby has a chance of being larger.
