My OB said she'll start at my 35 week appointment.
My OB with my first didn't check at all. I wasn't checked until I went into labor and was surprised to find out I was 4cm, 90% effaced.

From the way my midwife was talking to me, sounds like she won't actually do any cervix checks until I go in to labour! For now she just knows how much I've dialated from feeling my uterus and babys head S; don't ask how.. I don't really get it haha

yeah they dont check in the UK until your over due, maybe like 41 weeks and at the same time they will do a sweep for you, other than that there is no need, as it does not do anything, as you can be dilated for ages and nothing happens, I am booked in for my sweep at 40 weeks eeek, I hate people messing up there LOL

same here I get in a right state, I am ok in labour as you dont bother then, but hate going for smears or coil fittings etc and I panic, sweat, think what if i smell down there etc which makes me sweat more lol so the less internals the better, not even looking forward to the sweep i am booked in for and its 7 weeks off, I have OH on weekly shearing duties now just incase I have to have anyone head down there for any reason it never more than a week overgrown LOL

I had my first internal today at 38w+2. Cervix is like the door to Fort Knox... nobody's allowed in and nobody's allowed out.
