My sis works in a nursery and they have one of those nappy genie thingies (I forgot the actual name) but it sounds pretty much like what you ladies are discussing here. Apparently they never use it, they find nappy bags and the kitchen bin much less fuss!

Wouldnt that be really smelly?

If I could get away with storing the dirties somewhere for part of the day so I knew they wouldnt smell Id happily just use a normal bin and empty it once or twice a day outside. Mmmmmm, Im confused again....

I had one for the first baby because we lived in a 2nd floor flat and it was hard to keep popping down to the outside bins. Living in a house is much easier, I didnt use one for DS and wont be buying one this time around.

I think if you get the scented nappy bags and seal them up tightly it's not so bad. But then again they're in a nursery full of children so the bin probably gets emptied very frequently, so that's another thing to bear in mind.

We bought this, it's on sale and I didn't want to be running outside in the middle of the night, probably in the rain (this is Wales). You're in Scotland...

I just think for convenience it's a good idea, also our outside bins are set a bit away from the house, running around at 2 am with a brolly and slippers may be funny but it's not practical . xx
I bought that nappy bin a few months ago for exactly this reason.

Same here. Didn't intend on this but was looking for refills one day and they had 3 for £12 or a starter kit of the bin and SIX refills for £15. No contest really!

Personally I think they are great. We recycle a lot so the kitchen bin doesn't need emptying that much as it's not smelly. I'd either be doing it more often if I put my nappies in there or it would smell bad!
