Could I be leaking fluid??

Hey,

Hope you ladies are doing ok

Basically last night when I went up to get my pjs on, I noticed my knickers were wet. (Sorry tmi!!) I always wear a pantyliner now anyway due to having quite a lot of discharge but either side of the pantyliner was soaking wet. It didnt smell like urine and hadnt changed the colour of the pantyliner, it was just wet!

So I just went to bed as normal, checked my knickers this morning and where I'd leaked it was all hard and I know that urine wouldnt do that....

So today, we went for a nice walk and I literally had to stop walking because I had such a bad pain in my tummy. Now I've just went upto bed and the same things happened again...... I've been feeling baby move so theres no problem there!

Could I be leaking fluid or something? :S

You could be. its hard to tell could be urine, could be discharge or fluid if its unushal for you get cheaked out x

Well I at first thought it would probably be sweat cause I started sweating so much down there that my undies get wet like that! Horrible. But it doesn't go hard like yours! Then again I don't know if your waters would go hard. Discharge would of course. But you know if you are worried you best either call your hospital/MW or actually go to A&E. Better not take any risks! Good luck!

I also notice down there can feel a bit wet but as pp said its prob just sweat lol

I dont know whether to bother ringing the hospital or not

It could well be sweat but it smells abit strange and I didnt think that would go hard in my underwear....

I'll feel silly for ringing if its nothing, or even worse if its sweat or wee!

I can totally understand that but neither sweat not wee would go hard. Discharge might and it could be thrush that you suddenly have such a gush? Especially if you say it smells a lil odd.

Don’t worry about feeling silly. It is always best to double check!!! Baby is much more important than pride any day!

It definitely wasnt discharge, I did have some discharge on the pad as thats a different colour to the pad but the rest of the pad was wet along with my underwear, same again tonight! I might give them a ring and just see wt they say! Thanks for your help girls xx

Just wanted to give a little update on this. I ended up phoning the hospital on saturday and they wanted me to go in n get checked. Baby was fine on the monitor an my obs were all ok, got checked and doctor said my cervix was closed so couldnt be my waters. Anyway had a phone call from my midwife on monday to talk about what happened over the weekend and she said it could be my hind waters and they can still leak when cervix is closed.

the hospital took swabs so they should be back tomorrow so she said we'll just wait and c what they come back with!

Then... Half an hr later i got a text to say i have to c a consultant today at hlf 11! Im so nervous and not sure why i have to see him when she didnt seem too worried on the phone.

im prone to infections so possibly theyre just being abit cautious?

i dont know! Anyway got to see him in an hour and not quite sure what to expect. Anyone had any similar experience with hindwaters etc? Xx

I've had this today. Been told to put a pad on and check it in a couple of hours. Let us know what your consultant says. I don't know anything about the hind waters but hope you're ok. xx
