Very TMI but scared

On the phone to NHS Direct now and they havent a clue what it is, rang MW too and they dont know so freaking out a bit so wondered if anyone has experienced this.

TMI!!!

Been having problems with bad piles etc and finally was prescribed steroid cream last week. Anyway for the past two days I've had bright orange oil on the toilet paper when I have a BM.

The only thing online I can see are things like 'liver disfinction' or 'bowl disfunction' and it's got me scared. NHs direct confirmed wasn't to do with the cream. And I don't eat nuts or fish (another reason it can happen)

On phone to docs now TRYING to get appointment - they're hopeless!!!

I used to take a slimming tablet (prescription) that worked by not allowing your body to absorb fats so when you went to the loo it came out like orange oil gross sorry but this sounds exactly like what u described have u lost weight as well? It could be your body is struggling to absorb your food properly and if that's the case u really should be taking multi vits as baby will take whatever your body is absorbing and it will leave u with nothing which can lead to malnutrition and dehydration

My first thought was excess fat/oil.
Like people who take those slimming tablets (can't remember the name right now) but the excess fat comes out VERY easily and is usually orange.

Are your BM's very easy/soft at the moment?

that was my first thought too...those slimming tablets (begins with A - Alli I think??) caused that as they didn't allow fat to be absorbed by the body, perhaps your metabolism is having a hard time processing certain foods at the moment?

Oh my gosh I remember my mum taking some tablets years ago now and saying she had this.

I've managed to get an appointment at 5:45 tonight at the docs so will check then.

The Internet scares you SO much. All as I've read is cystic fibrosis, cancer, chrons disease, chronic pancreatitis!

Im sure if it was any of those I'd feel very ill! It must be the fat thing! Been trying to think of what I've eaten lately?!

I'm just worried if it would be affecting my DD? Worried she's not getting enough nutrients now 😓 going to ring the MW back now and ask again and mention the excess fat.

I'm all for fat leaving my body! But not now!!!

Sounds exactly like what you get from Alli/Xenical/Orlistat (Alli being the brandnamed one - the others the GP-named versions) - basically (apologies to those eating lunch) - the fat that's not absorbed comes out the other end and it looks like the orangey oil you sometimes get around the edge of your spag bol - best way I can think of to describe it!

If you're not taking anything like that - could it be that your body's not absorbing fat from your food for whatever reason?

Yeah, we'll obviously not taking any slimming tablets at the moment so I'm wondering why it's happening.

Rang MW back and they have no idea! Great help!

So I'll see the GP tonight and request a full blood count maybe? Don't even think I've eaten anything massively high in fat lately? Been really careful to eat healthy. Thanks ladies for chatting to me was in a right state!

I sometimes get this if I've been constipated. Sounds gross but it comes a few mins after my BM. I also have coeliac disease (inability to process gluten) which can sometimes cause this liquidy mucousy stuff. It's not serious but if it is that you may have to follow a gluten free diet.

Just wanted to give you some other possibilities besides the scary ones you mentioned. I'm sure you'll be ok. Good luck xx
