We have a basinette plus the playpen too....they looked so cute!
I love how big they are and how they have two settings for the bassinet, so you don't have to worry about them getting too big for it before you're ready to put them in a crib. My friend's baby was 15lbs and grown out of her bassinet by three months!
Holy crap a 15 lb baby at birth? Geeeeeeeeeez!
She was only 8lbs4oz at birth but 15lbs by 3 months. She's now 6 months and 22lbs. That baby grows FAST.

They do a co-sleeper at toys r us Canada. Have a look on the website. X

Summer infant side-by-side sleeper. $59.99 x
Thanks, I think I know the sleeper your referring to, it goes right in the bed? I wanted an arms reach one so badly or something that attached to my bed with a side that dropped down... We are pretty close to border also, I'm dt Vancouver... But thought you couldn't bring them in to Canada....
Why can't you bring them into Canada? Is that a health regulation or something to that effect? My full size playard/bassinette is from the US since we conveniently can't get the one we wanted at the Canadian Babies R Us (even though it is Safety 1st and they carry the brand!) and we also bought a variety of other items for the baby from there too without a problem. Maybe look into it a bit more and if all is ok, take a trip across the border and pick up what you want. In fact, a friend of mine does that all the time for her two kids...she even goes across to buy baby food of all things. If the price is right I guess!

As far as I know, a car seat is the only thing you can't buy in the States and then use in Canada?

I have a bassinet that will be beside my bed for the first 3-6 months, until I am ready to move her into the crib.

As for co sleepers, I've never heard of not being able to bring them into Canada? I got my stroller, crib and bassinet all in the states as I go across the border quite often. But I know some things, such as car seats and baby walkers are restricted as they do not meet Canadian standards.

I read somewhere that it was illegal to bring the arms reach co sleeper into Canada because they stopped selling them here for whatever safety reason. I forget the reason. I don't know how true the "it's illegal" part is but I read it on a reputable consumer sit. Maybe I need to look into that more. I also started leaning towards the Playyards with bassinet buts wasn't sure how comfy they were, would they be as comfy or close to a crib mattress...ok for every night sleeping? Thanks for helping ladies

I just did a little Googling and you are right. Due to their size, Health Canada classifies the arms reach co-sleeper as a crib and they do not meet Canadian stand#rds for a crib and are illegal to import or use in canada. I'm having trouble finding the actual Health Canada article, but it is referenced on many sites.

Which brand...I liked the graco Capri, I wonder if those little bassinets that fit across the top like the changing station are ok, I worried how they seem more like a hammock and babies are supposed to be flat on their backs... I'm torturing myself with these decisions...or do you ladies just plan on using the Playyard and putting the baby on the upper level until they are big enough to drop the floor down lower. I got freaked out when I read an article on SIDS and babies who slept on surfaces thAt weren't completely flat.... Google makes me insane...
