What a freaking day

I woke up sick to my stomach and started vomiting. Got in the car with my husband and drove to work. Took a Zofran halfway there and soon after started having problems with my vision. Reminded me somewhat of a migraine I had years ago, but no headache. Was dizzy walking into work because of the vision. Started trying to read emails, but couldn't understand them. Called my husband who works in a different building and told him I was having a hard time talking. He said I wasn't making any sense and came over with my Director. Called Women's Health...they made me walk down the hallway to L&D Triage. I could speak normally and see normally by this time, but my heartrate was elevated. NP checked my cervix and it is soft, 1 cm dilated and she had bloody show on her gloves. The Neuro Team tried to keep me for 24 hours, but then decided it was a migraine and not a stroke. Thank god. Discharged to home with bedrest for 2 days.

Went to my office, turned on my out of office email replies. Walked to the parking garage....AND twisted my ankle, heard it pop and landed on both my knees. Luckily right next to an emergency box...that didn't work. AWESOME. Called my husband. He ran to the garage within 5 minutes, but not before the emergency box popped on and they told me they were sending the campus police and EMS. AWESOME. Surrounded by 8 EMTs (WTF???) and 4 police officers...and my husband. THENNNN...two technicians arrived coincedentally to check the emergency box. They had turned it off for 5 minutes during the exact time I had needed it. This was the only box in the entire garage they were working on. Just that one. Right when I needed it. Refused the ambulance, got in the car with my husband, drove back across campus to L&D Triage because of the fall. Monitored the baby. Noted my contractions. Wrapped my foot up in an ace bandange. Gave me a Tylenol with Codeine prescription and sent me home.

This day sucks. BUT...I'm now having regular bloody show mixed with mucus plug. Interesting.

Thanks everyone. I'm holding off on the tylenol with codeine, but I did take a regular tylenol. I unwrapped my foot and soaked in a nice warm bath. Foot looked great before and after the bath, but still hurts to move it the wrong way and to put too much pressure on it. At least I can bend it and flex it and there seems to be very little swelling.
