I had mine in the top of my bum cheek. She had me stand up and lean slightly on the end of the bed and I had lowered my trousers about 2/3 inches on the side she wanted. Then she made me cough and cough again and the jab was done. I barely felt it. I don't remember the needle size, but it didn't seem larger than usual.
The coughing apparently relaxes the muscles to accommodate the needle. Which makes it much less likely to hurt when it injects (worst thing you can do is tense up). Well, my midwife knew what she was doing anyway, 'cos it didn't hurt in the slightest. You'll be fine!
Well I had the injection and i was worried about nothing, didn't even feel it going in. Just the sting as the fluid went in. Had a funny turn on the bed tho, bp went really low, funny how I was in on Friday with high bp and today it was in my boots! Roll on the next 9 weeks! Thank you all for ur replies xx
