food poisoning

So, I went to our local indian last night. Really enjoyed it but woke up around 3am and have had diarreah and sickness since. I can definately say that my stomach is clear of everything apart from liquid - because only clear liquid is coming up. Feel absolutely pants though and I've got a pain in my right side!!

So, I just wanted your advice - do I try and eat something or wait until I feel better inside?

I would sip lots of water and try and have some dry toast to see if it stays down. x

thank you sunshine. Turns out we haven't got any bread in the house so I ended up having ready brek (yeah cos that's the same lol).

Still drinking plenty of water and just having the sickness now. Although, pulled a muscle in my side whilst throwing up last night so I can barely move!!

Nasty, poor you do try to keep down as much water as you can so that you don't get dehydrated. That's really all you can do for now. I wouldn't worry too much about food until you're keeping down water. You can suck on ice cubes for a slower ingestion if you're still feeling iffy xxx

I had food poisoning a few weeks ago. I couldn't keep anything in my body for about 24 hours. I was so so sick! I think you should try and sip water and stay hydrated but I wouldn't chance the food. If you end up throwing it all up you have a higher chance of getting dehydrated.

See how you feel and judge it. I really hope you feel better. I know how awful it was for me!!

I had fp at the start of the week. It's a real nightmare. I just made sure I drank lots of water in small bits and ate as and when I could. Didn't always work but sometimes it stayed down.

thanks guys. I have been drinking water all afternoon pretty much (little and often) and thought I was recovering, then threw it all back up again!! there was literally about a litre and it's all gone to waste, so have the paracetamol I took for my side

I've rung NHS Direct and I'm waiting a call back from the nurse. Not sure what else to do apart from wait and keep sipping the water (and throwing it back up)
