Varicose veins of vagina and vulva !!!!!

Hello ladies, Since my 2nd.trimester I have had lot's of pressure in my pelvic and vagina. I didn't know why I felt like this ....It was getting worse week by week . Now it's very painful and I have to use my support belt at all times. This is my 3rd. pregnancy and I have never had this before with my 2 sons.
My Midwife told me that I have Varicose veins of vagina . I just wanted to know if it will go away after the birth of the baby and if any of you had this before??? I have never heard about this , but it's very painful and ugly

Hi zabka,
I had this mildly with my first and they seemed to disappear straight after delivery. With this pregnancy I have had them really bad and my lady bits look entirely disfigured when I swell. I use panty liners that have been wrapped in the freezer which seems to help bring the swelling down; I was advised to do this after I had some bleeding from them. I have been advised I may need treatment post-delivery as mine are unlikely to go away by themselves so I think it depends entirely on how extreme the veins are. Just make sure you have a note on your birth plan as your midwife may need to apply pressure on them during the pushing stage to avoid them rupturing. HTH

Thank you for your reply , I'm not bleeding or anything but it feels like I have marbell balls under the skin and my vagina is swollen all the time . Thank you for the tip about putting panty liners in a freezer . I will do that for sure . Gosh what else this pregnancy will bring ?

I have also had these - i am not sure if they are mild or bad! I have just plodded on and find that not sitting or standing for long periods helps....... although i have got a fat 'down stairs' as it is that swollen!

I also felt pressure / aching feeling from about 14wk but did not know what it was - i thought it may have been mild SPD. I was not told to wear a bump support though - did not know these even exist!
