34 weeks, pain help!

Ok I need some advice. Monday night when I went to the bathroom (just pee) there was pink in the toilet and a tiny bit on the tissue. I had a slight backache. I called the OB, who said it was probably normal and to have a cervix check the following day. Cervix check showed closed and firm. He said it was all just a part of pregnancy. No further pink though so all seemed fine.
Then last night (Thursday) I went to pee and when I was done there were these red pieces almost like small clots. I kind of went into panic mode, but it was only the one time so I thought I would wait and see. All night I have had terrible back pain on my right side only. I took Tylenol which eased the pain but it is still there. Is this normal? I hate to call if this is just a lovely side effect of being pregnant. Anyone have advice or experience? Thanks in advance!!
