Cervix question....

Iv been in hospital for 6 days with numerous problems but just wanted to ask you girls cos didn't want midwives thinking I'm thick but what does it mean when they say cervix is thick but soft? X

it means that it is not yet thinning out, but that is getting softer in preparation to do this.
in other words you are starting to get ready.

as you progress into labour your cervix will soften and thin out
