Off topic but how does it work that mat leave doesn't start till June? Are you due in April/ may, I thought mat leave had to start latest the day baby is born?

I dont think 34 weeks is late to still be a work so you have no reason to feel guilty. I left at 35 weeks this time that's cos I am having a section ( a week early), have holiday to use up and am worn out with my toddler! Do what feels right for you and your body x

I'm doing exactly the same as you and working until 38 weeks, so no I don't think you're being selfish at all. Like you I have a desk job and there's only so much I can do at home. I'd much rather have the extra weeks with my baby at the other end of maternity leave.

I'm 39 weeks and still working, my co workers are just tired of seeing me because I'm huge and I think it pains them to look at me. hahaha

Keep on going!!!

I worked right up to two weeks before with my first two and two DAYS before with my 3rd, this time I have not been in work for 5 weeks now, which is not great as its as I was signed off, I keep asking if I can go back and dr says no, but if you feel fine go for it, i would rather have time off after than before if you are still feeling able to work xxx

You aren't being selfish hub, I have my own business with my OH and I will be working up to giving birth an then will have no choice but to go back straight after I have my own office an baby as a little nursery set up that's just off my office, people have been asking me how much time I am going to have off but it's not that simple I am lucky in the fact that I can cut my hours down an that he will be coming work with me, I know it's going be hard but we will soon get in a routine

Good for you hun there's no reason you shouldn't keep working if you're happy to. Bugger them all . Why should you sit at home and worry if you're comfortable at work? Silly people.

I wish I could have worked up to my due date, would have been much much simpler! Unfortunately I was signed off for 8 weeks and was told I wouldn't be allowed to go back because my stupid job involves no sitting at all. Ah well haha. xxx

Doesn't your maternity leave have to start from the day the baby arrives at the latest? So surely if your baby arrives before the end of your holiday then your maternity leave will start automatically? x
