I honestly think that even if you start trying to evict your LO at 37 weeks, they will only come out when they are well and truly ready. Most of the things people try will only work if the baby just needs something to literally tip it over the edge and make it come out (which is why most times it fails....because the baby just doesn't want to leave yet!).

The chances of going into labour at 37 weeks is pretty slim compared to say...40/41 weeks

I have to disagree with this (sorry!).
I know 2 people, one of them my sister, who had their babies at 37 weeks and they actually needed a little help when born because of it.

I know lots of babies are born perfectly fine at 37 weeks, but others are just not quite ready at that time. I don't believe from 37 weeks all a baby does is chub up. Maybe some, but others are still developing a little bit more

Yes I can see what you are saying. Some babies just aren't ready at 37 weeks...but its a small percentage in my opinion. Oh well. To the OP-baby will come when its ready. Doctors don't like to delver babies before the 37 week mark only because their suckle reflex isn't fully developed before then...but by 37 weeks according to medical professionals...if baby were to be born in MOST cases baby would be completely healthy and fine!

I'm 37 and 1/2 weeks along.. a couple days ago I had sex with OH, walked heaaaaaps, walked a lot up and down my stairs and ate some spicy food.
Nothing ): I was having more symptoms of labour before I did all that stuff! So now I think I'll just wait it out

I plan to start drinking RLT at 34 weeks, and taking EPO tablets and bouncing on my exercise ball at 36 weeks. I don't know that I'll have energy for DTD or long walks, but if I do, I'll be doing more of those at 38 weeks. I fully expect to go past 40 weeks though.

I've heard that carrying your baby longer will generally decrease their risk of getting colic, they'll sleep through the night better/sooner, and they'll have an easier time learning to breastfeed.

as for trying.. well only nature can really determine that i guess lol

But my high risk specialist today asked me how I was doing and of course I said " ready to be done doc" and after seeing her weight and how she's sitting he grinned and said " well what stopping you" lol

Maybe if nothing else works begging and pleading with LO will lol

I will probably wait until I hit 40 weeks before I start anything. But I might not even try as most of the things you can try don't work. Plus I will be getting induced at 41 weeks if she isn't here. I'm 38 weeks in a few days so it's really not that far away anyways.

I am 37 weeks today and don't want to try anything until I am closer to 38 weeks. I just want to make sure he has those few extra days to make SURE the lungs and sucking reflex are ready.

I'm in no hurry. I have started to ache a bit these past few days after feeling fine but I think I overdid things this weekend. Babies come when they are ready...noone can predict it. As long as baby is happy I am happy. My DS was nearly 10lbs so I'm not scared of going over with this one.....though an 8lber would be nice....

i know how you feel, but unfortunatly like what another posted said i think things only work if your ready to go anyway. ive been trying things from 37 weeks more so because ive been getting period cramps and back ache so i thought it might help things along but LO doesnt want to budge. I think the reason i carry on trying things is cas even though i know they probably wont work it still feels like im doing something instead of sitting around twiddling my thumbs lol.

Im still trying to convince my DH on the sex thing, he thinks he may hurt the baby and plus with the fact that youd need to do it so many times makes me not push the subject. I always thought the movement from doing it helped too? Is it just the that has the benefit?
