Working at 30 weeks...

Hi ladies
I am 30 weeks today and have just cut my hours back at work as I am starting to feel very tired at times and have had a bad back since about 14 weeks gone...I also have a 17 month old at home..another reason to cut my hours!!!

Is anyone else still working and when do you plan on quitting? I work in an office BTW which you would think would not be tiring, but I am getting to the breathless stage so it doesn't matter what I do, I still can't get comfy lol!

I'm hopefully stopping this week. I've not felt good the whole pregnancy (the nausea has never gone away), but now I've got SPD and it's just the final straw. I'm seeing my GP on wednesday morning and I'm going to beg him to sign me off work! I was going to be finishing at 32 weeks anyway, but I can hardly get dressed in the morning, so another four weeks of work is difficult to contemplate.

I'm lucky that my sick leave (assuming the GP agrees!) will be full pay. If it wasn't I think I'd have to start maternity leave.

Oh I don't blame you. I have been so lucky to have felt no sickness with this pregnancy, I don't know how you have coped! SPD sounds awful, I have terrible backache or at least i did but its feeling already 100% better now I have cut my hours and am getting more help from DH!

I was done working at 33 weeks. It was a pretty physically tiring job which required I be in my feet all day and going up and down ladders multiple times. My pregnant was pretty normal and I would have continued working if my feet and back hadn't started hurting so bad. It got to the poi t that free work, when I would lay down I could hardly get myself up again for hours. But each person will know when it's time or them. Some people are tough cookies and work up until they pop. Lol

My plan is to try to make it until at least 39 weeks, but I don't know if I'll last that long. I don't want to leave work early and use my 6 weeks maternity leave before baby is even here though. I work in an office as well so it wouldn't be that bad except I have to drive an hour to and from work which is exhausting!!

Its a hard decision isn't it. I don't want to eat into my maternity benefit yet, and I wanted to save a bit of money over the next few weeks. I am trying to work until May 4th when I will be 34 +4! I cant imagine how tired I'll feel by then!!!!!

I finished at 30 weeks. I wasn't feeling uncomfortable as such but I was getting tired. I have thyroid problems as well as pregnancy anaemia, and like you have another LO at home whom I wanted to spend some time with over Easter etc. I'm so glad I did as I'm now nearly 34 weeks (been finished 3 weeks almost exactly lol) and I'm breathless and cumbersome lol. I have been told that I will have another big baby so kind of knew this stage would come sooner rather than later and at the growth scan at 32 weeks I was told this one is already over 5lb so will be closed to 6lb by now

I just wanted to be comfortable and not stressed, and while the nesting instinct is stressing me out as my house just NEVER seems to be clean and tidy for more than 5 minutes. I'm contemplating sending hubby and LO out for the afternoon so I can clean and at least get half an hour of it being up to scratch lol. Other than that, all is great and my health/tiredness has vastly improved since being at home.

Unfortunately I've got another 6 weeks to go before I finish, I get increasingly tired by mid-afternoon and more so by the end of the week, so would happily give up work now, so will try and enjoy the next couple of short weeks coming up and hopefully mid-May will come quickly!
