Flu & early pregnancy, experiences needed pls!

Hi ladies.
Im 6wks 4days pregnant and I have a really bad flu.
Im concerned about the effect it will have on my baby, in particular all the tummy jolting coughing I do.

Did any of you have the flu in early pregnancy and still now have a healthy pregnancy ?

Thanks in advance xx

Yes I had it at 12-13 weeks...and I was SOOOOOOOO sick...it was the stomach flu...couldn't keep ANYTHING down...barely even water.
It lasted for about 3 days.
When it comes to a flu/cold....I am just getting over a bad cold which I thought was going into my chest...could barely breathe....but now I'm much better...and I'm told it's not a big deal during pregnancy.
The only time that it becomes a concern (more for stomach flu sufferers) is when you become dehydrated. Try to keep fluids down, and just know that at 6 weeks pregnant your baby is very well protected in there...a close friend of mine had a horrible cold, and high fever at 7 weeks along, and both her and baby were fine! HUGS!

I had the flu at 12/13 weeks too! I thought it was morning sickness finally hitting me...nope! Turned out to be the 3-day flu bug from HELL. I was cramping so bad I couldn't move myself off the couch to run to the bathroom without help...which was every 5 minutes :/
I don't think the flu is curable with antibiotics though?? The flu is viral and garlic/anti-biotics are supposed to be for bacterial-caused problems..?

I had flu about the same time when i was pregnant with my son but i didn't even know I had fallen pregnant at that point. I was talking some painkillers and fever relievers aimed at flu. It knocked me off my feet for a few days. He is a very healthy boy. I have posted before he has adhd but it runs in our family anyway.

I'm pretty sure the main concern is getting a high fever when you're that early on. Watch your temps. Stay cool and keep hydrated. Lemon juice and honey in water for vitamin c could help. Doctor ordered you to take garlic??? What kind of doctor is this? He must be great! Garlic is wonderful. Good luck hun.

Lemons and garlic are antibacterial and antiviral. Again, good luck. I'm so sorry you're going through this .

I know minced garlic (plus some oil or butter)on bread and toasted really soothes a sore throat it has a slightly numbing action for some people.

Cinnamon is known to be good as well in with your honey and lemon Have a google about flu and the 1918 outbreak and factory.

I love grated or chopped into chunks raw ginger in my lemon etc hot drink as well for some real zing also anti-bacterial and anti-viral as well.
