what do you think of the boys name Leslie?? :)

Hi Ladies! Hubbie is Michael Leslie and LO is gonna be Leslie Michael! (Paternal grandpa is called Leslie) I wasn't keen on this name at all at first, but I've grown to quite like it! Ha ha however I don't think many people r gonna like it, which is ok by me really - I wanted something that wasn't going to be too popular , but was an old school name and not exotic!
We've kept the name a secret but I'm dying to know what people think of this name! Good or bad what r your thoughts? I won't be offended! What does this name make u think of??? Xx

If im honest the first name if I saw it written down would make me think its a girl (I know it can be used for either though). Personally not a fan but if u like it I dont think it matters what anyone else thinks. x

You can always shorten it to Les (with a soft s, like "Lesss") if you want to remove the ambiguity. My OH has a male cousin named Leslie but everyone calls him Les. I think it's a nice name - I'm fond of gender neutral names anyway.

Being totally honest, it isn't my cup of tea. But I am 100% sure lots of people won't like our choice of name either! As long as you like it, and are happy, don't worry. You can give a child the most generic name and people dislike it too!

I actually really like it! It's a strong traditional name and not overly common, it's also nice that it means something to you and your OH

I know more female Leslies than male Leslies. But the male ones I know go by "Les". It's an unusual name - not common here.

Personally I don't like it but it's your baby and if you like it that's all that matters! When I think of the name leslie I think of Leslie Nielsen

I think its a good choice and not one you hear anymore, someone I was very close to who is no longer with us was called Leslie but we always called him Les, and I also know two female lesley's.

NOBODY likes our name but I have decided I dont care its OH grandmas name and we are going for it
