Need some word of encouragement!

We had our 39 week appt. today and am super disappointed I've been having so much pain and pressure down there that I just knew I had to be more dilated this week. To much disappointment I'm still only 1 1/2 cm and 40% effaced. So no progression this week. Even better news is that my dr is on vacation next week! She set my induction for April 18th. I definitely do not want to wait until then since a close family friend lost their baby when they let her go to 42 weeks.

Is there anyone out there who have been in my position and had their baby soon after? I've already lost my mucus plug twice. Im having a ton of contractions throughout the day. Would really love some encouraging words right now!

Well it is unfortunate that your doctor will be out of town but don't worry that you're only 1and a half. It can happen so fast I know it's easier said than done but, try to relax and enjoy yourself. As much you time as possible and working on projects.. Red raspberry leaf tea, sex, walking.. I think when I relaxed and stopped worrying about when I'd go into labor, I finally did. Lol. Im sorry I'm not much help. Good luck hun!

I don't think I'd worry quite yet. Some women don't dilate at all until labor starts then it all goes at once! You're not yet at 40 yet so don't worry hon. I don't blame you at all for not wanting to wait until the 18th though - ugh! That's torture for sure. I am so sorry about your friend losing her baby at 42 weeks. Though I can assure you many many women go over their due date with no dire consequences to mom or baby so try not to let that worry you. I know easier said than done!

Thanks ladies! I'm just going to stay positive that she will just come sooner than that on her own!
