Seeing "falling lights" at the sides of my eyes

This has only happened once earlier today and isnt happening now but it was really weird so I thought Id post and see if someone else has had it.

I was getting dressed earlier and all of a sudden I thought I saw something out the corner of my eye so I looked to see what it was and all of a sudden there were loads of little lights falling downwards at each side of my eyesight (if that makes sense. i.e not directly in front of me but at far left and right side)

The looked like clear Xmas tree lights falling from the ceiling and it lasted about 3 minutes. Hasnt happened since but was very disorientating and very odd indeed.

Am I a freak?

I get this a lot! It looks like falling glitter lol My Dr said it could be from turning your head to fast, low blood sugar, high blood sugar, low bp, or high bp, dehydration...as long as you dont have high bp its not something to be worried about!

I went to the doctor yesterday and told him about this! He said its normal and some people get it during pregnancy...he wasn't sure what caused them but he said it was nothing to be worried about!!

I had this in my first pregnancy and it turned out to be mild pre-eclampsia..best to get your bp checked! Its not "normal"...but can be caused by many things...it can be a red flag...not trying to freak you out...just saying you should get it checked! Hugs!
