Tightening feeling top of my uterus.. is this early labour or braxton hicks?

I had a sweep yesterday and since this morning I have had very irregular pains that feel like tightening at the central part of my body, top of the uterus, under my breasts. It all comes at once, stays painful for 30 seconds and then spreads apart. No period type pains down below and I have probably been to empty my bowels 3 times today. Feel pressure but only central of my body. Could this be early labour? It was not like this last time...

I am now wondering if this is epigastric pain associated with preeclampsia...but the pain is dull and achey, comes and goes- and I was told epigastric pain is acute and horrible onset..

I have no pain in lower tummy at all

I really don't have any experience seeing as this is my first, but I was wondering if it could liver pain due to your pre eclampsia? My doctor is monitoring me for pre e as my blood is up and down and all over the place and one of the symptoms I read about is pain in the centre bottom of your ribs, or at the bottom right side of your ribs due to inflammation in the liver? Just a suggestion...

Either way I hope you figure it out!!

Yes I was also told to watch out for this central pain or right side just below ribs...as thats associated with liver... oh well, I will watch it for the next hour or so and if no relief then probably have to go in... they are checking me tomorrow anyway - but they said when this kind of pain starts to not neglect it and come within the hour...

I am hoping it is just braxton hicks or the pain just goes away..

Ive read about that too hun so Id be inclined to keep an eye on it and if in a half hour its still there you should maybe go in rather than wait. Hope you get on ok. x

Thanks - it's typical to strike me at this hour when 3 year old is in bed - aargghh.. fingers crossed, this is the last thing we need...been in the hospital about 5 times a week for the past 5 weeks and getting fed up at this stage..only if the next week just goes without any hiccups...
