Let's hope we prove them all wrong.... you don't need to say you had an epidural even if you did. My last 2 friends who had babies had them at 37 weeks so I will probably even out the stats by going over but I need to keep telling myself its not long either way.

I've heard it as well, and it's really annoying. My OB told me he'll come when he comes, that's about it. Out of 5 friends of mine, only one of them went overdue, and one had her baby on her due date, the rest were 1-2 weeks before their due date. All of them are first babies!

Sometimes it seems like people just feel the need to comment on your pregnancy, regardless of whether or not it's true. Most have absolutely no idea what they're talking about and want to hear themselves talk or get a reaction.

I always thougt ours would come early. So did my midwife, but here I am overdue and frustrated! Baby engaged since 31 weeks but no signs! And now all I'm getting is "oh first babies are always late" Sven from my midwife!

Aww, that must be awful . I'm trying to get myself in the mindset that I could go 42 weeks so that if I do go over, the blow is softened a little bit... haha I doubt it'll work though. I'm 37 weeks next Wednesday and I'm like, "He can come then if he wants! "

I know how you feel! I believe when the baby is ready, he/she/they will come!

Some women can give birth at 36 weeks, some at 41.. :-)

I hate this too! It's funny because a lot of people I know, including FTM, have had their baby at least a week or two early. I'm praying I'm lucky and have my baby around 38 weeks, this GD is killing me. Not that many people go overdue

My first was late, but I do remember doing a lot of research before she was born, and statistically the majority of first time babies are born at 38 weeks!

I find that when you're pregnant people think they know everything about pregnancy and babies, yet most are men or women who've never had a baby!
One that makes me laugh is my Hubs friend, he thinks he knows everything yet he knows nothing so it makes me giggle.
I do hope my baby isn't overdue though, I am so impatient.
