Anyone taken AMOXYCILLIN in first tri, and still doing ok?

Hi ladies.

Hope you dont mind me asking...

I am 7 weeks pregnant today and have just started taking Amoxycillin tablets for a sinus infection. I know amoxycillin is meant to be safe, but my concern is that I am taking them at the point in my pregnancy where the baby is forming its organs.

I would love to hear from ladies who have taken amoxycillin some time around the 6-8 wk mark and are still having a good pregnancy (or wonen who took them in earlier pregnancies and had healthy babies).

I took it in the beginning of my third trimester and baby is fine. Your Dr. wouldn't prescribe you something that would hurt your baby!

I took it a few times in my first pregnancy for sinus infections and my daughter was perfectly fine. I also had to take hydrocodone for sciatica, and if that didn't hurt her I don't know what will. Good luck to you and get to feeling better

I had to take Macrobid at 7 weeks and my LO is fine

Also have heard that amoxycillin (spelling?) is on the safe list

I took them late in first tri for 7 days, and everything has been fine with my lo

Amoxicillin is fine. I had to take macrobid for a week and lily is perfect. If you do take amoxicillin then I recommend eating plain yogurt with it. Anything in the cillin family is bad for causing yeast infections. GL

Trust your doctor, they would not prescribe you it if the benefits didn't out weight the risks. With that I had taken a 7 day dose of Amox at 10 weeks, and my baby is fine.

It's a perfectly fine type of penicillin. Don't worry about it. Loads of people have to take antibiotics during pregnancy for various infections

I took amoxicillin because I had a bacterial infection when I was 6 weeks pregnant. It was a week course and baby is doing and growing perfectly fine. Doctor's won't prescribe something that is not safe to take during your pregnancy.
