I *attempted* to trim the other day, and now I really just don't care.
I accidently nipped my skin on the top, right across a stretch mark and I swear it was agony, and the amount of blood was unreal

Out of sight - Out of mind. I honestly do not give a monkeys what state it is down there now, I will be pushing a child out of me, I think the last thing the medical staff will be worrying about is the state of my bush

Well I was VERY proud of myself today. I have to say I 'let myself go' during second tri and I decided to tackle the very overgrown lady garden whilst bathing earlier. I was completely blind and very nervous about nicking the 'little man in the boat'! However I managed to remove EVERYTHING except a little neat landing strip. SOOOOO impressed with my handy work. OH has been away for two weeks in Florida for his sisters wedding and I am sure he will be very suprised by my newly trimmed bits when he gets back on Tuesday!!

Mine is horribly swollen too.. yuck.. my husband seems to enjoy it still though..lol. I tell him watch out my pussy will swallow your junk and your little balls too... LMAO. But I keep mine trimmed.. for my man.. and for my doc. Once a week it gets a trim and I shave around to keep it all contained to one area.. or else I would have pubes growing down my thigh and through my butt crack!

I have been mostly hairless since I was a teenager and its just a personal preference for me as well. I feel cleaner when there is no hair and I don't get that sweaty musky smell which has always bothered me. I try to shave every few days so it doesn't get out of control, after doing it for 10 years I can go in blind and its not too bad. I'm sure I miss spots all the time but I could care less. I do it for me and me only. At this point not even for DH since we haven't DTD since second tri, and I know the Dr's have seen it all so I don't care. But yeah especially for post-birth Its so much easier to clean up nastiness when there is no hair in the way.

And in terms of infections I have never had an infection from being hairless. I know it affects some women's PH and it allows more bacteria and bad things to get in there but for me it has never affected that.

Having just been through labour and recovery I would say def trim it - will make post labour recovery a bit less, errr, icky.

I wouldnt go for a wax as regrowth might interfere with your healing if you get ingrowns or itchy regrowth etc.

And trust me, neither you nor your docs will care what it looks like when you have a baby coming out of you. It wont look pretty down there regardless.

I let myself go during 1st and 2nd tri with maybe one or two clean ups total during that time. About 32 weeks pregnant, I cleaned it up and have kept up with it about once a week so at its worst, its slightly stubbly. I am proud of myself though because I do it completely blindly

Has anyone actually had a wax and it been alot more painful? I had one at around 12 weeks which was fine, well, as fine as they can be :P But wondering what it'd feel like now as I'm a tiny bit swollen/sensitive

I bought myself this:

I've been keeping myself neatly trimmed (a bit less than 1/4inch) , it's got a 'beard trimmer' on the end
