If you have a ball, get bouncing on it!! That helps baby to engage

Nope, my first head was so far up that i almost needed to get forceps i was left at 10cms dilated for an hour to allow her head to come down and was told it was a lot further up than it was supposed to be.
but i had the sweep 2days before this.

my second wasnt engaged either but i had the sweep. never herd this before

Interesting, I wonder if it's just a case of different practices for different midwives/consultants. I'm glad this has been brought up, and now that I know a little more about it, I think I wouldn't be willing to take the risk of cord prolapse if the head wasn't at least partway engaged.

I wasnt even aware of this. but then midwifes and doctors are useless one min they are advising to do something next they are advising against it. makes you wonder what they really do know :s

so they dont do this now? if your overdue your just expected to wait till they give you a date to be induced? the sweep dont always work anyways x
