Anti D

So ladies....next week i have my 28 appointment for my anti D.

Can anyone tell me what its like???

Before being pregnant I was always terrified about having a blood test. Now that I have had a couple of them, i'm more terrified about having an injection. Think i'd rather have them take more blood (though they will be doing that also)

Is it a really big needle?? Where do they inject it? What does it feel like?

urrrrgggghhhhh!!!!!

N xx

just had it again following a miscarriage and I too am needle phobic. I asked that they got it all ready before I went in rather than watch them draw it up etc. It was injected into my bum took 8 seconds (I know, because I counted0
stung a tiny bit going in and then was fine straight afterwards)
I've had it four times in the past and don't actually remember those events so it couldn't have been that bad!

I had it hun and i was really scared but it didn't hurt at all. It was a normal sized needle and it went in the top of my arm. I felt it go in like you do with most jabs but it wasnt painful or anything. It was over and done with before i knew it and i wondered why i had been so bothered about it lol. Good luck with yours im sure you will be fine.

ive had it 4 times this pregnancy due to a small amount of bleeding, the routine one and poppy kicking me hard in the stomach (not on purpose). its a small needle and only stings for a few seconds. they asked me where i wanted it each time, i took it in the arm!

Mine was just a shot in the hip. It's cold. It's not all thick like it was in the golden age, and they dont put it through your veins.

Nothing to stress over =D Luck!

I've had one in my thigh due to an accident and one in my arm. Both were bearable, much preferred the one in my arm as it stung less. Like you I was petrified of having blood taken before, now I'm looking to sign up as a blood and bone marrow donor, funny it just doesn't bother me any more xx

I had one in my bum muscle and it was fine. Don't worry about it it's just a little sting and then it's over.

Thanks for all you replies ladies.

It has definitly settled my nerves a bit. I don't like having injections in my thighs or bum cause of the muscle. I hope I can have it in my arm. Think i will ask anyway.

I had it at 28 weeks and it was actually fine, I hate having my blood taken and getting injections etc.. Just don't look at the needle, it's huge! xo
