Ok- so my husband and I have tried to dtd several times in the last two weeks with no success, because after 11 years of marriage and weekly nooky up until the pregnancy, my vagina has somehow shrunk! Ok, probably not true, but that is how it feels.
I am not talking about him hitting my cervix or anything like that, I mean my actual vaginal opening seems too small and burns like hellfire when he tries to enter. The first time it happened I thought I just wasn’t as into it as I thought. The next time I thought maybe I needed lube, due to hormones going crazy. Last night, I know I was into it, we had lube and we tried every position we could think of, but it still really hurt. The best way I can describe it is like my perineum has somehow gotten longer and every time he tries to enter it feels really stretched/ burning and there is even a wee bit of blood when we force the issue.

Um, any advice or anybody experience this? I have no idea what has changed or if this is all a result of less frequent sex…..?

I wouldn’t be so worried except that if he can’t fit, what the hell is going to happen when the baby makes her exit?!?!

I can understand your worry! I noticed when I fell pregnant, when I was above 24w+ that down there was a no go! It just felt like it was so tight, I think it was because we'd been apart for a while. I cannot imagine what will happen when she pops out but I can understand how you slightly feel.

Yeah I find that too.... bit worried how little one is going to get out. Although to be honest I wasn't enjoying things when we tried really

Have you been checked for a vaginal infection like yeast? yeast irritates the lining of the labia and inside of the vagina causing it to be inflamed if it's a really bad infection. This can cause a lot of pain. I know when I have an infection that's bad it really stings when trying to have sex and it happened without having any other symptoms.

Because of the extra pressure baby puts down there and the extra blood flow basically it all swells up. I asked my MW about this as she told me to go and have sex to help induce but explained that my OH doesn't fit anymore she explained why

Is there any chance you might have a small bout of thrush (candida)? Sometimes that can make thing sore, tight and sometimes bleed a little. It's worth checking out with your Dr as it's really simple to treat. x

I second the posters who suggest getting checked for an infection. That can cause the symptoms you are describing.

Oh, I hope that is the case, because all of this had me thinking I was abnormal and in for a 3rd degree tear

Also, I never thought of infection, but I will check with my midwife. Lord knows I see her often enough!
