SPD and induction

For ladies with moderate to severe SPD have you been offered the option of an early induction?
the pain is intolerable some days, and so bad on others but today is one of those bad ones, its making the piles worse too its horrible

Have you been told you can get induced?
or for second/third/fourth time mothers have you been induced before due to SPD? or will they force you to wade it out until 40 weeks???

I was told I'd have to wait until 40 weeks (on crutches and I also have a non pregnancy related spinal problem) then a few weeks ago was told if I'm favourable I can have a sweep on fri (37+5) and we can 'discuss where we go from there' was pretty shocked as they'd never hinted at anything like that before then.

So sorry you're in so much pain, think the only reason theyve said this to me is due to the spinal problem and the fact my full term DD whos now 3 was big and got stuck. X

Nope my doctor wont induce me early as its not medically necessary. My SPD is severe too.

wow thats pretty harsh, well I know I can be induced at 39 weeks as my midwife does not like my odds of going into labour alone as severe anxiety can stop labour happening altogether but she said ultimately its up to the OB, if they refuse a C-section then its up to them if they will induce early, she seems to think they will but it might be due to my anxiety/mental health rather than SPD??

Yeah sounds like its anxiety related. But not sure what inducing would do as you would have anxiety no matter when you went into labor? Every doctor is different. GL

well my worst fear is going overdue, its a real panic attack provoking thought, as I cannot handle this pregnancy much longer anyway, all in all Im praying for a C-section at 39 weeks then I'll hold on, if not then I'll probably do something drastic to bring on labour

I won't be induced even though I'm on crutches having physio weekly and on codeine to try and make it possible for me to care for my two year old son.

I'm also estimated around an 11lbs baby which is obviously going to cause a lot of different problems relating to the SPD and pain but it's just not policy to induce anymore it's up to individual specialists, our process takes 6 weeks to refer to one and my SPD only got 200% worse 3 weeks ago so I'd be 39+4 before seeing them and the assessment phase takes two weeks so I know I have to do this when LO is ready to pop.

Good luck ladies I think we all need it. Xx
