hi! ive had to get it 4 times this pregnancy the routine one plus i had a little bleed and my 2 year old throws some violent tantrums resulting in kicks to the bump (not on purpose).

it takes about 2-3 seconds, stings a bit and you can have it in either your arm or your bum, whichever you prefer. it's nowhere near as bad as getting blood taken (which makes me sweaty and nauseous!)

Edit: it honestly isn't that bad at all, I would tell you if it was!

oh god i couldn't imagine getting it more than once! i fainted at my last appointment and that was just for a blood test :/

Honestly, don't listen to the horror stories, it is no worse than any other injection. I had read it stings more than you will ever know and worked myself up so much I nearly fainted waiting for it but honestly the blood test beforehand hurt more and even that was ok.

It seemed to take a long time for her to do the injection but I had a double dose, but it really does not hurt at all. I had mine in my arm, I know some have them in their bums.

You don't really need the injection during pregnancy unless you have an accident/fall/get kicked, etc. You really need the injection AFTER giving birth (if your baby has a positive blood type)...otherwise you don't need it at all. Good luck!

I had the super concentrated one in oxfordshire. Seems to vary in different areas how often adn what concentrate they offer. I was told would only need it once which i am pleased about. Had it at the top of my bottom and had to wriggle my toes. Did hurt briefly but it was soon over and done with. I think some of it is the shock of a cold liquid going in as they store it in fridges. Did feel rather tired and off for a few days after.

Thanks ladies I've been told I will only need it once unless I have a bleed etc. I'm such a wuss & you'd think I'd be over my fear by now!
I hope I don't feel ill after its my birthday two days later! Ha.
