Have a look in the supermarkets and in Primark and matalan. Asda have baby bedding at low prices including the small cellular blankets that you'll want at first. Baby towels - well you could just use normal towels but the hooded ones are cute and I have seen those in the supermarkets and in Primark too.

Hospital stuff - maternity pads are a pound for ten in both Asda and Tesco - this is the lowest price I've seen. Get ten packs though! Don't get disposable knickers - get a couple of multipacks of the biggest grannypants you can find (Primark do a black pack which for obvious reasons is better than white). They are just as cheap as the disposable ones and so if you have to throw them away it doesn't matter. Primark have cheap nighties for about £4 each or you could just use old nightwear that you have at home and won't mind throwing away after.

Try B&M for blankets if you have one in your town. They do some lovely ones and nice and cheap

The prepacked hospital bags look like a waste of money. They don't have enough stuff in them so you'd need another bag too. I saw one that only had 8 pads in it! yeah right!!!

its annoying asda are so good but theres not one near me and not b&m either
i need to get some pjs for hospital as i will be breastfeeding and its easier if you only have pull your top up instead of your whole nightie lol.

are the disposable pants a waste of time? i need lots of towels cos i bleed a lot during periods and after birth x
