iv had my boy
I went into hospital for 9am wednesday morning was admitted to ward and had all usual blood pressure checks etc and put onto ctg machine. at 11:30 my cervix was checked and i was 1 1/2cm dialated but not enough to break my waters so i was given prostogan tablet and put back on ctg for 45 mins then was told to walk around. me and dh started to walk around, walked down the length of the hospital twice and started feeling some twinges we went outside and walked round the whole of the hospital which took half hour, was having contractions quite strong while we was walking around, we went back to the ward and was put back on ctg which picked up my contractions, mw was very happy and excited, i sat on a birthing ball which helped alot and at about 3:30 we went for a walk to the cafe for my dh to get a cuppa and some food, contractions started getting stronger so went back to ward again for some paracetamol at 6 we went back to cafe again via the stairs for come crab climbing lol walked down 2 flights of stairs sideways and went to cafe and shop and when coming down the stairs back from the shop i felt something dribble in my pants, i thought it was just some discharge from where i had been checked as i had a little bit of a bleed when i was checked, but it just kept coming, i stopped dead on stairs hoping it would stop but nope i had to get to the toilet thankfully there was one close so i sprinted there, dh had no idea what was going on and 2 cleaning men said to each other "iv just seen a pregnant woman sprinting" liam had a good chuckle at that but i got onto toilet and it was my waters and they went with a gush and just wouldnt stop, went back upto ward and mw got even more excited, was checked again and i was only 3cm it was 6:30 at this point my contractions got so much more painful from then so i had some more paracetamol at about 7:30 i got into the bath which did naff all for my pain, i got out about 8:30 and was taken straight over to delivery. my contractions were coming strong and quick and i was in agony been horrible to my mw shouting at her lol i asked to try gas and air at about 9:15 i didnt take to it well at all it made me really agressive for some reason and i ended up kicking one of the mw's not on purpose may i add, and i also ripped liams tshirt pulling at it, i asked for an epidural but had to have a canular in before i could have one, got that put in which took ages as she was putting it in between my contractions and im scared of needles so i was very fidgety, i then decided i needed a poo and started crying cause i wanted to go to the toilet for a poo, mw was in middle of hooking me up to ctg before she checked me to make sure i was 5cm but i ran off to the toilet to try have a poo, 15 mins later and dissapointedly no poo i went back into room and was put on ctg and mw checked me.....dont think ill ever forget her words to me, she said i think youll be a good 5cm so i could get the epi without trouble and when she checked my cervix 10CM!! she said "blimey girl your fully dialated time to push" bearing in mind id done about 4/5 contractions on gas and air had 2 paracetamol i was absolutely shitting myself i said i didnt want a baby any more and that i hated my husband etc, but i had to do it so when contractions came i started to push it was 10pm at this point, i was so scared at the thought of delivering with no pain relief, but at 10:58 my little boy, Bradley Newman Brook was born weighing 7lb10 I am so in love with him hes an absolute diamond! thank you everyone for all your advice and help throughout my pregnancy xx
