Anyone had a cold/flu while in labor?

I just noticed yesterday that my chest is congested and when i cough i have a wet cough...im praying that im not getting sick...

Im 40+2 so now im panicking if i go into labor and i do have a chest infection or cold will it be dangerous? Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Im really hoping its just a fluke and not going to turn into anything...im going to up my fluids and use the vicks vapor rub on my chest...and i have a Dr appt tomorrow so i will ask him about it...but i was just wondering if anyone has had a cold and had an ok labor?

No one knows if its dangerous or not?

I'm not sure if it's dangerous during labor. But since the baby is due I think their immune system would be fully developed and able to fend off a cold. Don't take my word for it though!! Maybe someone else would know better than me? Could you call your doc or L&D? They may know more

I can't say for sure either, and i'm mostly just basing this response on what i've read about the flu shot...but I think that your anti-bodies/immune system is passed on to the baby. So you can't INFECT the baby with something you have already been battling while he/she was still cooking inside you. If you started running a fever during labor or something then they may have issues...but since most colds/coughs are caused by viruses and not bacterial infections, i think it should be fine.
