natural birth success stories?

Hey ladies! I'm planning an all natural birth, but still going in with an open mind. If I feel I need pain medication I sure as hell will get it, Hehe, but I definitely want to try doing it natural first. I would LOVE to hear some success stories from the ladies who have had a natural birth without pain medication!
Was it what you expected?
Did it hurt? Lol!
How long was your labor?
How did you feel when it came time for pushing?
How did you feel after?
Do you plan on doing it again?

Come on ladies, let's hear some positive stories!(:

good question!

this might interest you - its a vlogger on youtube under the name gabeandjess, and its her pregnancy journal in videos kinda thing, and he gives birth to twins naturally, so amazing!! it goes for like 30 minutes, but watching that helps give some idea

i think i typed into youtube search bar 'gabeandjess labour and delivery' or something like that.

xx

Just had my baby yesterday so everything is fresh in my mind. lol
It was nothing like I expected it. There really is no way to understand it other than going through it.

It hurt, wont lie to you but it's not a constant pain and I hsd a huge.clock in grint of me. Knowing when the contractions would come and knowing how long they would last helped..
Labor was 3 hours 45 min from 1 cm to pushing time

I knew I had to push bc it reakky feeks like you have to go the bathroom a d there's a kot of pressure, not necessarily painful, just pressure.
I felt AMAZING afterwards. Pushing was my favorite part bc it was the least painful and the relieve you get when the baby is coming out it's sooo good.

If I had the option I would get an epidural but just bc it would have been easier. I still would do it again.drug free too. A womans body is truly an amaing thing.

Hi!

I had Emma naturally (well almost - I only had gas and air for pain relief) in a birthing pool. My labour lasted about 13 hours and I can't lie, it did hurt. However like a PP said the pain isn't constant. and I never felt like I couldn't cope. Pushing was the easiest part - you just feel a pressure like you need to do a massive poop (sorry!) and it is a relief when the head is out.

After labour I felt a bit wobbly but mostly just knackered! and I was glad that I didn't have to get any drugs out of my system.

I am planning a natural birth again - I wouldn't change a thing about Emma's birth!

I have done it with just gas and air, never totally without pain relief, the first time I was in labour for 24 hours, with 12 of them terribly painful and I was exhausted and on saline drips etc as I was so worn out, that was hard work, but afterwards I was fine and the pushing i always find the easiest part, the horrible pains of contractions go.

My 2nd was much shorter, I was 7cm by the time I got to the hospital, again very painful but was not long before I needed to push and that is a much better feeling, it does string and burn A LOT when they crown, but with my 3rd when he was crowning I just must have said to the midwife owwww thats burning and she poured I think it was warm water over me and the releif was instant took the pain right away then he was born, I am going to ask them to do that again as it was something so simple but really took the burn out of it.

I have never had an epidural so cannot say if it would be better or worse I got pethidine with my 3rd not really for pain but I was worked up as I had been bleeding and they talked me in to having it to calm me down, not sure i would have it again as it was to close to delivery and my little boy was very sleepy for ages after and had trouble feeding

natural meaning vaginal birth? or no pain relief? lol well iv'e done it 4 times 1st time was a little more traumatic, my lo got distressed with the cord around his neck, and i ended up being cut and the ventouse was used! but the only pain relief i had was g & a not cause i didn't want anything else they try to persude you into not having anything its cheaper i guess then you get so far along and you cant have an epidural anyway i do remember begging for one though crying dry tears saying i cant do it over and over

none of my labours have been paticuarly long 8hrs i think my 1st the rest shorter and shorter my 4th being the quickest was about an hour in all, i'm hoping for the same again this time there wasn't time to beg for epidurals, i just got to hospital and ripped off my pj's and said CAN I PUSH NOW! the mw looked and said omg yes push lol so i did. the pressure i felt was immense each time, each time b4 i leave for hospital i need to poop but better then than later the pain you feel is so hard to explain, iv'e had friends who say its a piece of piss, and myself and many included will say NO way its not easy! the contractions are hard to deal with for me they always seem to be in full swing and on top of each other but you can do it!!

but listen i'm now on my 5th and final baby and yes i'm also dreading the birth just like everyone else you'd think i wasn't worried, but i really am just rem that it isn't called labour for nothing, it does hurt, but its also what your body was meant to do!

remember that drugs are there too help, and it doesn't make you more of a deserving mum if you don't have any! i do long for a pain free birth like i see on any american birth shows on sky where they have an epidural and then told to push and hey presto there's your baby
but for me its never really been like that, but it has always been, i can feel everything and i recover quickly. with my 4th i waited 6 hrs and then went home i tore but apparently you don't have to have stitches if you don't want too so i chose that time not too and all is well.

sorry if this is a lot of rambling
all of you good luck and its all so worth it when your holding your baby in your arms so drugs or no drugs just do what feel you need to, scream, swear shout whatever you need too x
