I certainly wouldn't waste a fortune on buying newborn new. I brought a lot last week from next for over £200 and then I heard off friends etc their babies only fitted on newborn for couple weeks

I took all the new stuff back and got a big bundle of 30 sleep suits an vests off eBay for £8!

i have got some sleepsuits, vests, cardis and outfits in newborn and up to 1 month, but not loads. my last baby was 9lbs 4oz so some newborn didnt fit and some she wasnt in long and this little man is big for his age too.

most things i have are 0-3months and 3-6months.
imo best not to buy too much newborn x

When we were pregnant with Earl we bought one of those starter packs you can get in each size - NB and 0-3. They are basically enough to last a few days before you need to wash etc. Earl was out of the NB stuff by the time he was a week old, so was almost straight away into the 0-3m, so we didn't buy any more NB and concentrated (and asked people for if they bought clothes) 0-3m or bigger. This time I've hardly bought any new clothes for this little one (we are team yellow again so don't need to lol) but I have bought a couple of little things in each size just in case lol.

I thought I had too much, as everyone told me I wouldn't even use NB. Now I wish I had more! I have a handful of sleepsuits a bunch of onesies and a few outfits. LO was 7lb 13oz and NB stuff is huge on him!
