Slow labour?

Hi Ladies
Just wondering if any of you who have been in slow labour can tell me what it feels like?
Ive been getting cramps in my lower belly on and off since last night, they havent really stopped, but they dont come at regular intervals, and some are stronger then others, but not so bad that i have to take deep breathes etc. Im just wondering though as im not having any tightenings then obviously they cannot be contractions?
Im 36+5 today so not far off full term, could it be baby getting ready?

I was getting cramping but no tightnings. The midwife said it was just my body getting ready for birth.
