Sharing any 'operation evictions'

I have until the 25th to get this baby out au naturel or I am being induced. Although I have no problems with induction, I would love to prove them all wrong and start this off by myself. So far we've tried sex, vindaloo, regular EPO, birth ball bouncing and nipple stimulation.

Anyone care to share what they will be trying or what worked for them last time???

This really won't be what you want to hear - trust me I'm maxed out on the fed up front and hate this fact - but honestly, nothing and I mean nothing will get the baby out unless they're ready to come anyway. It can be good fun trying though, lol.

I was convinced that I'd have this baby by 38 weeks; I truly, genuinely believed it. I have had every single 'labour's coming!' sign in existence, literally, and still nothing. I've tried everything there is to try, and still nothing.

Just one little word of warning: trying some things can get your hopes up for nothing, you may not mind but I've found it pretty devastating (thanks hormones). You can start having BH/mild contractions etc only for them to just disappear, and that is actually crushing the more it happens. It's like in return for trying to coax your body into labour, it fools you into thinking things might be happening then takes it all away, lol!

I have very, very slowly come the conclusion that the best thing to do is try and push ALL 'am I going into labour today' type thoughts out of my head; when you're this close, it's extremely tough and I still can't help but get a little excited when I have a little sign, but seriously, the signs are no guarantee whatsoever.

It WILL happen soon though, that much IS guaranteed at least - we're just not really supposed to know when!

I think most attempts don't have a snowball's chance in hell of working safely and efficiently until at least 40 weeks for the majority of women. Of course there are plenty of exceptions )

A tummy bug tried to send my body into labour at 38 weeks but the baby just wasn't ready so we had a frantic hospital visit and plenty of pain for nothing. As Eshka says, this can be extremely devastating because we're just so desperate to meet our LOs!

I haven't tried much apart from RLT/EPO/activity as I'm going for a VBAC and I want the most efficient labour possible to avoid the knife again. But now that I'm overdue (40+5 today) I've started trying some other bits and bobs (clary sage, sex, orgasm) to see if they work. I have until the 20th (and a sweep on the 17th) so hopefully something will work!

I really hope you beat your induction date Anna!

Completely agree!
I'm doing the "I'm not overdue and won't be going into labour today. So do what you like body!" thing today
