How to tell if baby is head down?

I am just about 32 weeks. I am feeling baby move all the time but his movements seem all over the place. I thought by now he would be too big to be doing too many acrobatics. How can I tell how he is positioned?

I feel my baby all over too - but my doctor says she's head down.. The down side is now you start to feel head turning, their arms/pokes/punches, and their feet.

Sometimes you can get an idea from where the movements are and what type. For example I feel more rolling movements above and to the left of my belly button which is his bum, compared to sharper movements out pretty wide to my right which are kicks. Then I hardly feel much in the lower area, though I do feel the occasional rhythmic hiccuping down right above my pubic bone where his head is.

But really I only know because my midwife has confirmed that position the last couple visits!

I usually go by where I'm feeling hiccups (I figure that's probably around her head/chest) and where her feet are.

My LO has still been flipping around though - I know for sure she was breech for a couple days last week, but now I think she's back in her preferred head down/feet crawling up and down my side position.

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. I feel him hiccuping lower down, so I guess if he's not in position yet, it is just a matter of time!
THANKS!

I had no idea until my midwife checked on Wednesday.. he is head down, and I feel his movement everywhere.

32 weeks is still very early and your doctor won't usually check position until 36-37 wks. I felt my lil guy do somersaults quite a bit and two weeks ago he was head down, now its quite the opposite. Don't stress about it now!
