High blood pressure....maybe?

I am 32 weeks along and at my last appointment (30 wks) my blood pressure was 150/80. Four weeks before that it was 117/80 and before that the top number was 140. It's all over the place. Doc says my protein levels are good and I'm not showing any signs of preeclampsia but I was just wondering if there was anything to worry about or anything I can do to keep it low?

It could just be pregnancy induced hypertension which alone isn't horrible to deal with, however, make sure they are checking ur urine for protein as it could become pre-E. My blood pressure is all over the place, because of this im classified high risk for Pre-E, however, after monitoring at home I was fine until I hit 32+ weeks. With that being said any time i checked it at home it was 120/80 (normal). Its spiked quiet a bit the last few weeks, but no swelling, no eye sights issues, and no protein, just having an eye kept on me. Sometimes doctors WILL put you on blood pressure medication, but they only like to do this if your blood pressure is staying high, if its all over the place it could just be 'White coat syndrome"

My BP has been high my whole pregnancy, usually about 129/90-140/90 but since I have no protein in urine or any other preeclampsia symptoms, she just monitors it. Part of its my reaction to the blood pressure cuff since when I test at those machines at the pharmacy, I'm much lower, and part of its just my natural levels.

From what I understand the bottom number is more important. /80 is good. Your doctor should definitely monitor you, but if you are concerned you could try lying with your feet up whenever possible, for a lot of people that lowers it.

I started having really high blood pressure (it went up to 160/120 and stayed there for a few hours). I had a few other symptoms for pre-e but things like swelling in the feet and headaches.

In the space of a week I had 2 urine tests and there was no protein in my urine. I was put on medication to help lower my blood pressure but in the end I had to have a section and my baby was born 2 days ago at 37 weeks 4 days.

A few things to control blood pressure that I researched (bearing in mind for me this happened over about 2 days so don't read this and think well it didn't work for you LOL, it would probably have a great effect adopting these habits for a longer period of time)

but little or if possible no added salt.
Protein and lean meats/chicken.
low fat foods, and lower sugar foods. Check with your doctor that it is OK but also drinking Hibiscus tea is meant to help with lowering blood pressure too.

And rest as much as you can, take it easy if you can lay in bed and get as much sleep as possible. I know it's not easy for everyone to do that but do it as much as you can. I hope your blood pressure goes back to normal and you have a healthy rest of your pregnancy xx

Thanks! I am very blessed that my hubby has a great job and prefers for me to stay at home and rest while cooking our little one. I have another appointment this Wed so hopefully things have settled a bit.
