Rib Pain???

I hope you ladies can help.

I am sitting in work, working away, and I moved to fix the band of my jeans (maternity obviously) and I knocked against my rib and it really hurt.

It the side of my rib, not at the very front, and whilst it wasnt excruciating, it did hurt and does hurt when I touch it again.

Have any of you girls had the same thing, is it because the baby is getting a little bigger and closer to my ribs or is it just a coincidence that I have a pain there. Just wondering really.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

My rib pain has been horrific for the last couple weeks. Especially on the hour drive to and from work I do everyday, its soooooo painful!!! Mine is because baby squishes himself on my right side and either presses my ribs outward or kicks the shit out of them. Theres really nothing you can do either in the car or at your desk. Except try to change positions a little. Getting up and walking around helps too if you can. Sometimes I nudge him a little to try to get him to move but that seems to just encourage him to kick more.

so sorry to hear but i feel your pain, i have been having rib pain since 25th week and i am in my 35th week right now!!! it is apparently very normal so dont worry about it too much. mine was even sore to touch a few weeks back and i ran to the hospital as the pain was unbearable, the doctor said u cant do much as i am very petite and the baby needed more space or either he was lounging under my right rib...there are some better days but everyone tells me that i've just gotta wait until the baby drops!

the one thing that has really helped me is exercise which i am doing regularly! trust me it has really really worked specially the hand and the spine stretches which creates more room for the baby!

all the best to you and hope u feel better but i know that the pain goes away as soon as u drop or after u deliver if that makes u feel any better!

I find that the fact the baby is resting against them doesn't help any knocks or bumps!
I look weird all the time when I'm massaging top of my bump/ribs.. It does help.

I wish we didn't have to suffer the pain!
