Somewhat decreased movement at 31 weeks

He hasn't been his typical active self today. He has moved, but usually by this time of night, he's going nuts. I feel fine overall, but in the past hour maybe, if I stretch to the left or lay on my left side and press on my right side, there's a bit of pain. It's not terrible.
My doctor told me kick counts are unreliable before 32 weeks, so I don't want to seem like I'm jumping the gun.
If it were you, would you ring L&D/on-call doc?
I'd just feel foolish if I called and they told me to come in, and then he started getting really active.

If it were me I would probably have something cold to drink and lie down for a bit or just give my baby a few prods to make sure she's still responsive, but then again it's not unusual for my LO to have the occasional quieter day (she's having one today in fact).

That said, if this is out of the norm for you then you should call. Being reassured and feeling foolish for a few minutes is better than worrying all night!

I've been having a quiet day now and then recently too. Do go get checked out if you are worried. You might feel a little embarrassed once you find out that everything is ok (which it 99.99999% probably is), but you will also feel soooooooooooo much better.

Don't ever feel foolish for going in when your worried!

I'd have a cold drink and try to encourage baby to move, i'd give it an hour at most then ring L&D, they're there to reassure you, thats their job. Don't put off going because you feel foolish, they've seen it all. Plenty of people go in leaking pee instead of water Should they feel foolish? No. Its always better to make sure and be checked than to wish you had xx

Thanks ladies! I did go in and of.course on the ride there, he gave a few kicks. They monitored him and said his tracings? look beautiful and it doesn't show that he's in any distress whatsoever, moving and heart rate exactly as it should be. They did verify he's transverse though, which explains a bunch of things for me.
They're having me come back in the morning for an ultrasound and nonstress test to be 100% sure. I'm thrilled they're diligent.
