Ridiculous pain in left hip

At first I thought it was just aches and pains of pregnancy, but it's getting worse. I'm gonna ask my Doc about it at my appointment Wednesday but I was gonna see if I could get some opinions first.

Every now and then when I go to take a step with my left leg, a shooting, sharp, stabbing (love that alliteration lol) pain that takes my breath away. When it happens for a few minutes (up to 15-20) my hip feels like it won't support me without exploding.
I have no idea what this could be but I just wondered about input. Thanks!

I have this issue too. It turns out that my left hip is slightly turned inward. So thats whats causing my pain. My doctor had me seeing a massage therapist, and wearing a baby belt at present (which isn't helping much). She asked me if I needed medication for the pain.. but I'm so nervous about side effects and what it could do to baby... I just can't bring myself to take anything.

I totally understand what you mean. New years eve I had to go to the ER for stomach pains that got so bad they had to administer morphine to calm me down. I stressed so hard till my sonogram Jan 24th so we could see it hadn't affected my little man.
My hip never hurt like this before, but once a long time ago when I was going to a chiropractor I remember he commented on my hip in the xray....just wish I remembered what he had said.......

Feels like a nail gun shooting you in your left side? I had this. My massage therapist worked on my hips and bum for 60 minutes and finally got rid of it. She recommended getting on your hands and knees and slowly wagging your bum like a dog wagging its tail, she said it might help with the pain. She also said sweeping and mopping will cause or make this perticular pain worse so stay away from it. Good luck, i was in tears it hurt so much.

I have exactly the same thing and boy am i miserable. it is soooo painful. I rang my mw and she basically said that it is normal, that is caused by the relaxin hormone expanding ur pelvis, the position and size of the baby. She said to take paracetamol when the pain becomes un bearable and to try and rest as much as possible. i work in retail, how is that remotely possible.
