People hated our last daughters name (pronounced Kay-sie) including me....I love the name, hate the spelling, and wanted Kacey, however hubby had his own plans and I gave in eventually.

Now I love her name, its so her. (still not sure of spelling though to be honest).

A lot of people hate a lot of different names, but as baby's parents, its up to you guys to like it, and to hell with everyone else. If they dont like her name, does it matter? Think of everyones names you love, can you honestly say you like ALL their names??

And to family and friends - if they choose to make fun of her name, I would tell them that they are making fun of your child, how would they like it if you made fun of their child, be it for his/her name, buck teeth, lisp, shoes, parents....?? Thank them to keep their comments to themselves, no one has higher authority on the subject than you and Dad, so bugger off.

I like the name u chose hun. As everyone else has said, she's your baby, you should name her whatever you like.
People always feel the need to pass comment/judgement, thats why i havent told anyone the name we've chosen x

If that is the name that you like, then stick with it. My DH's picks on me for just about every choice I have made so far about the baby / parenting / name...

They probably just think they are being funny. They may actually like the name, but just be picking on it to get a rise out of you. That's what my MIL is doing!

The name we have picked is Kari ( said car-e not carrie) and all of my family apart from my sister hate it. It's either stupid jokes made about it or just plain outright saying wtf?!
One comment was Kari instead of lorry? Which they found hysterical and then said oh jeez let hope your baby isn't really a girl then

Honestly do u think I should change it?
the way my feance put it to be was this is our baby once we pick a name it dosnt matter if people turn there noses up to it that will be his name. I think the name you have picked it very pritty and different whats the middle?
me and DHand DD are keeping our sons name a secret from family and friends until he is born cause well it is harder to not like a name when you are presnted a baby to go with it.
but its not right for them to be saying stuff like that to you, its not nice and dont let them get you down, if you do decide to change it you dont have to tell them

Her middle name will be Joan after my nan, which may not go with a lot as its quite old fashioned.
Full name would be Kari Joan Cooper ? :-/

It's a beautiful name you picked, btw.

Exactly I feel the same like you , no one knows our baby boys name . Everyone would love to know or they suggest but we don't care .They have to wait till my baby is born

I like it, and think its a pritty unique combination, if you can see your child with a name then stick with it, and dont worry about other people family or not they can be mean or say things they dont realise is realiy upsetting you.

In the politest possible way - tell them to fark off!! I think when we offer up a name before LO is born, its like asking people for their opinion (which we are not!) and they just looove to give it! I like the name and I think you should stick with it.

I mean - would you ever?! If I didnt like something I wouldnt comment full stop!

I love the name Kari. My mom works with a woman with that name and I've always thought it was a nice name.
