Ok. I have had this tickling in my throat dry cough for last couple of weeks. A few times it's turned into a "coughing fit" but nothing major....till last night. Last night I started hacking so bad I threw up my dinner. I couldn't keep even water down and I feel like pulled muscles in my lower abdoman and lower back. I started to get weak from the coughs and no food or drink! Dh wasn't a huge help...he did finally wake up after I begged him and made me tea, which came up too. I tried peppermint and it made me cough and gag until just bile came up ! I finally broke up a Tylenol pm and was able to go to sleep. Now this morning I feel drained and nauseous. My throat is itchy like the fits can start again
Today I'm officially 37 weeks and I can't see going into labor with this cough. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?
That sounds terrible! I had a bad cough/cold back in January. The only things that helped me was water and tons of it, hot broth soups, gargling with a warm salt water rinse, brushing my teeth more than usual to get the phlegm out, scotch mints, hard candy or anything that soothed my throat. Have you tried honey, sometimes just swallowing a spoonful can coat your throat. Has this been going on for a long time? The lack of sleep doesn't help, maybe you can talk to your doctor? Feel better soon
I do have Tylenol with codeine that I got for my spd..I have only used it a couple of times. Should I take the robitussin tonight and Tylenol tomorrow if it doesnt go away? Gonna try the tea w/honey and lemon first though.
