i love my mom/MIL thread

I just want to give props to the grandmas since we all know there are some really shitty ones out there.

OH and I will be working and ill be attending school. I told my mom that id prefer to hire her as the babysitter if that's ok with her and she got sooo offendeed. She said to me "are u crazy! I would never charge you to watch my grandson."

That made me smile soooo hard. I love my mom!

On the other hand my MIL can reeally go choke on a squirrel

I saw a great sign in the back window of a car today - was like a 'Baby On Board' sign, but said 'Mother In Law In Boot'!

Not at all close to my own mum but had an awful (neglected) childhood and she has little to no interest in me or Fin. To the point she told me she was "through with me" when I was pregnant with him because I dared to tell her that I would not allow him in her life if she was still using hard drugs.

MIL on the otherhand - she is like a proper Mummy to me. We're very very VERY close, see each other several times a week (when hubby not around) and do lots together. I ask her everything I imagine I should have been able to ask my own mum. I love her to bits. She is amazing. Her and Fin are as thick as thieves too which is the sweetest thing.

ETA - The Rose as a middle name for our baby girl is after MIL - shows how close I am to her. I want to name my baby after her lol xx

I love my mum! She's my birth partner and official 'dad' to LO! I honestly don't know where i'd be without her. Probably walking round with no shoes or socks on as i can no longer put them on unaided...
His other Grandma however, doesn't even know she's going to be one!

My mom is my mother and father.. As much as she refuses to be called grandma, I know she is going to be a great one. What are some good things your mom/MIL has done to make u feel like she deserves the spotlight

my mum is a legend. when we had DD1, she was down at our house every evening with food and did loads of stuff to help (not just because she got cuddles from Poppy ). I do not know how I'd have got through those first few weeks without her. Colic's a bitch! she is an AMAZING granny. my MIL is lovely but very in-your-face. well not my face, but poppy's. she doesn't really listen to what im saying a lot of the time which is irritating but she's harmless!
