Raspberry Leaf Tea?

Hey all! I just picked up some raspberry leaf tea today thinking I'd give it a go. Just wondering... are there any guidelines for this? How much are you supposed to drink each day? What are the benefits supposed to be?

Benefits are supposed to be a better toned uterus for more effective second stage of labor. I think as your already past 37 weeks you can have a few cups a day. It's actually opposed to work better as it builds up in your system. I tried drinking it with honey but I prefer it with a bit of sugar instead.

Ahh great! I read up on it a bit before buying it and that said that it just made labor a bit easier which is great! And then my mom said, "Oh you're going to evict him then?" Upon hearing that I was going to try it... This is not my goal, I want him to come whenever he is ready (preferably he will be ready soon haha). So good to hear it's not an eviction tactic!

it makes the muscles in your uterus contract more efficently when its time! or its meant to at least!

i been having 2 cups a day since 38 weeks but with 2 tea bags in it because i really dont like the taste and could not bring myself to drink 4 cups of the stuff!

Prob get the capsules then cos there's not much difference in price. How many are you suppose to take a day?

I started drinking this today. I saw a doctor at the antenatal clinic at the hospital and I was asking about things to hurry baby along and she burst my bubble with "sex, walking, pineapple, curry - all rubbish. there are only 2 things with evidence to show they work, and thats a sweep which you cant get until 40 weeks and raspberry leaf tea" i said oh :[ well surely its too late for me to take that now? she just said "every little helps. but take the tea not the tablets cus no one really knows why but it only really worked when steeped in hot water".

and from the packet im meant to have 3 cups a day! its gross. the 2 bags in one cup idea is fab! But i also find its not so bad if you make it with a normal fruit tea bag in the cup as well

hth! and good luck to us both! xxx

I've yet to try it! I can't believe how many cups we're meant to drink... Hopefully I'll be in the minority and like it! I was thinking it might be too late for me too, so I'm happy to hear that input from your midwife.
