:'(

Went out with some friends tonight for my OHs birthday. I ran into a girl on the way back to the bus stop that I was at university at- and well, she gave me a big lecture about "being pregnant at such a young age". Apparently I'm not goin to be able to cope, and because of this my child will grow up with behavioural problems (?!?!??!) I'm 26, I dont consider myself young??? After all, what the hell is wrong with young mothers? Surely age is just a number and
It's your maturity that counts??

Probably shouldnt of upset me, but it has. And the looks she gave me were horrid!

You should ignore it!
You're 26! That is not young.. I'm much younger than you and get it sometimes, all you can do is ignore it because then you can turn around and prove them all wrong!

Don't let it get to you!

well i am 22 and expecting my 2nd, id like to see her try and tell ME im too young! friggin idiot. some people just think they know everything and just HAVE to tell people their views!

at the moment my OH and his mum are having some time apart because their relationship is so tense and she is utterly poisonous. they go to the same dental practice and their DENTIST told OH (whilst she was removing a tooth so he couldnt even say anything back!) that he was being a terrible son and should be grateful to have such a caring mum!

W.T.F. i wish id been there with you id have slapped the bitch... xxx

That is crazy I'm 26 and this is my 4th baby 3rd living but still I had my 7 yr old at 19 and got lectured for being to young back then but I'd laugh at anyone that wanted to tell me I'm to young now at 26 (well I'll be 27 next month )

wow, she sounds jealous!

I'm 19 - so she must think of me as like a 12 year old?

Oh my good God. Firstly, at 26 I had two kids aged 4 and 2. I'm now 28 and onto my third. I don't give a shit whether someone is 26 or 16; it IS the maturity that counts.

As for Gobby Cow, I'd have retorted by saying, 'Behavioural problems? Such as complete and utter lack of fucking tact when talking to a pregnant woman?' She was one to talk, and yes, I'd have given her a hefty slap too.

In fact, I'd have headbutted her. But then my mum had me at 20, so clearly I must have behavioural problems.

Pfft.

That's just plain stupid! 26 is definitely not too young! Ive got two friends who had babies at 16 imagine what she would have said to that and their little girls who are both 7 are lovely, bright, well mannered and do not have any behavioural problems! What a silly girl for saying that!

Xxx

age is just a number. im 19 and there is nothing wrong with my 1 year olds development or behaviour. i always get comments on how shes such a well behaved, happy and contented little girl. shes always clean and well fed and definately well loved.

imo there are 'bad mums' of all ages. we live in the 21st century.. she needs to get off her high horse and come back to reality!

people who have a bad view on young mums need to nip over to the teen pregnancy and teen parenting sections on this forum, what some of the girls over there as young as 15 have been through hell and back and are still standing strong with thier LO's.. they would put some older mums to shame!

just ignore your friend. she sounds a little immature to me. dont let her comments bother you
