changing doctors surgery/midwife

We went to view a lovely house today which we move into on June 1st, give or take a few days.
I'm due on 20th July and currently have appointments 6 weekly.
Has anyone changed their doctors surgery when pregnant? Therefore changing the midwife they see for their appointments?
I don't want to only meet the new midwife like once before having the baby and am worried my standard of care wont be as good with a new midwife as my midwife is great and so experienced.
Should I try and change to new doctors before I move in order to get to know new midwife a little more before having baby?

Any experience anyone? xx

Hmmm I might if I were you. I had a horrible doctor and hospital when I was pregnant with my first which we found out when I went to thr hospital in early labor. So we decided last minute to stay with my in-laws who lived a couple hours away at the time (we were in the process if moving there anyway) and just go to a hospital around them when I was in labor. We went in when we thought I was in active labor and because if GD and whatnot, ended up induced at that hospital. Anyway...it is kind of a long story but that hospital is where we found our now family doctor who we love. But it would have been easier for sure to have gotten to know the doctor first and know the hospital is good before going in. It must not be an easy decision though since you like the mw you have now so much! I hope this helped even a little bit. It can be rough switching last minute

Thanks for this hun. Things work differently here in the UK, so I just hope I'm allowed to see a certain midwife in a certain area before actually residing at an address in this area. Here in Scotland every six weeks (for now) I see a community midwife at my doctors surgery, whereas you guys in the US seem to see a lot of doctors rather than midwives. Would be different if I was seeing her weekly/fortnightly therefore would have more chances to get to know new midwife xx

Oh I apologize! I should have seen where you lived I only see one doctor so just wasn't thinking about that I suppose. I hope someone else is able to give you some advice and that things work out for you!
