OT- lonely and homesick. :(

Tonight starts the celebration know to eastern orthodox Christians as Pascha. It is our Easter celebration and is the biggest feast of the year for us. Well I'm living away from any family and don't have a church that I attend so it's really hitting me today how lonely I feel. And it doesn't help that hubby is at work and won't be home until Monday afternoon. I haven't even dyed our traditional red Easter eggs or made the traditional Easter bread called kulich. I'm so close to giving birth as well and all of this along with my hormones is making me feel really down when I should be happy and celebrating. I miss the huge church service that usually starts out somber and turns into the brightest, most spectacular service that anyone has ever seen. It basically turns into a party in the middle of church with flower petals and bright candles dancing around. Sorry to ramble but it's do hard being away from family this time of year and in such an emotional and exciting time of my life.

Also, fingers crossed and prayers that I have a Pascha baby. That will make it all the more special!

Can you skype or call your family? I'm sure just a chat with them would make you feel better

and even if you can't be bothered right now, decorating the egg and making the bread will keep you busy and get you into the spirit of things. You can still celebrate without family there

I've talked I them on the phone and that helped a bit but it's not the same. And as its so late here already I'll have to do the bread and eggs tomorrow. But I was thinking about bringing some bread to my hubby at work for him and the others. And hopefully I'll be able to lay my own little egg. (have my baby) Lol.
