Hello! I am new here and have a question about the "bloody show." I am 38.5 weeks with my third and had my cerclage removed a week ago, I am 1cm dilated and 80% effaced. My doc did a membrane sweep this morning and within an hour i lost a glob of mucus that was all bloody and continue to see bloody mucus whenever i wipe. Ive heard that after a bloody show labor usually starts within 24-48 hrs as well as after having a sucessful sweep. Has anyone gone into labor shortly after their bloody show or a membrane sweep? Would appreciate any advice.
I had a sweep on saturday and lost some bloody mucus afterwards, but I didn't go into labour. I'm not sure but I don't think the bleeding after a sweep is the same thing as the show... but I could be wrong
Thanks for your reply! I called my nurse to ask her earlier and she said that it is totally normal to have bloody mucus. she said it was my mucus plug and that my cervix was changing so just have to wait it out i guess.
thanks everyone for your replies!! guess its just a waiting game now....i hate waiting lol...i need him out now cause i have 4 final exams at school next week plus we are moving into a new house in 6 days AND i have two other small kids to tend to! Phew im sooo busy
