3cm dilated!

Just got back from an appointment, and I'm 3cm dilated and she could even feel the soft spot on the baby's head! It's making me really hopeful that baby will come soon!

So what do you all think - can I wander around for a few more weeks like this, or are chances good of my little man making the journey out of my tummy soon pretty good?

Did she not give you any advice?

I had Caitlin with 24 hours from 1cm dilated ...2nd+ babies can be quicker or Im missing something here lol and you can move from 1 to birth quickly!

Must be any time now!

No advice, unfortunatly, and I was too surprised to ask for any. She did book me an appointment for a week away, so presumably I could stay this way for a week at least. She also advised me to head to the hospital very quickly at the first sign of labour, so I guess it also could be soon. So that's why I figured I'd ask around and see what people's experiences have been

LUCKY!

At my prenatal appointment that I had 37 weeks and two days, I was only a fingertip dilated!

Umm... try walking!

Wow, how exciting!!

I know you have a naughty cervix / uterus, and women with incompetent cervix's (which is what i have...not sure you have though) can walk around dilated for days... imagine how annoying!

So hopefully yours is just a good sign that you're only hours away from a big push out. Put the kettle on quick!

wow how weird the same thing happened to me yesterday... I went to my midwife, she feels the head in pelvis, she told me i am 2cm dilated and she felt a contraction when she was in there. She did however tell me that it does not necessarily indicate labour is imminent but she did say all the signs were hopeful.. she also did a stretch and sweep of the cervix so spent all night thinking i would go into labour but here i am almost 36 hours later and nothing, although i am having more pains than usual but does not feel like contractions. lets keep hoping that our babies make an appearance soon.
