Hello all

LO was born at 32 weeks (drs and I disagree on exact dates but they have me at 32 weeks 5 days) due to severe preeclampsia and complete placenta abruption. They were trying to hold mien the hospital until 34 weeks but the night before my emcs, I could feel my body giving up. It was the worst feeling in the world knowing your body can't give your LO the time he really needed. I had the steroid shots to give his lungs a fighting start. My blood pressure had such issues trying to stabilize and I was on the highest levels of medication and it was still climbing to the point it basically destroyed the placenta. Somehow LO wasn't affected and neither were my kidneys or liver. Very thankful. My mom had eclampsia with my oldest brother and she seizured and delivered at 27 weeks and unfortunately lost him after a 16 day fight.

I didn't get to see LO until the day after delivery- actually about 35 hours after which had me so upset but I was still on IVs and confined. This is how I saw LO for the first time- through DHs cell phone

He was 4lbs, 4oz when born and dropped to 3lbs 15oz. His nickname in the NICU was "mr serious" because he had so many forehead wrinkles!! They filled out fast! Not wrinkled, but he was giving attitude already

He was on CPAP, then cannulas, bili lights, went home on a apnea monitor because he kept having As and Bs right before discharge. He spent 3 weeks and 1 day in the hospital. Hardest thing I've ever done was leave him there the first night I was discharged. I cried the entire 1 1/2 hours home! The lovely nurse let me do extra kangaroo care. I first got to hold him 3 days after he was born. I snuck in at 2 am to drop off breast milk and it was so peaceful and quiet. She said he was doing well enough for me to hold him. I was in heaven holding him finally! She even took a picture to capture the moment

Now, he's 7 months old. He's had inguinal hernia surgery, tongue tie clipped, lip tie still a future possibility, and his umbilical hernia healed itself. He's a bright and happy boy(when well fed) and has STTN since may except for a few misses! He's a little small for his age and fights in the featherweight division but he's suddenly ravenous! Eats 30+oz plus 2 meals! Here he is a few days ago taken after he projectile vomited all over me including the hair!
. And getting ready to eat!

After finding out I was pregnant at 17, imagine my horror when the gp told me I was already 24 weeks gone

Two weeks later I went for a scan and we found out our baby was a little girl on our way back fromt his scan my waters broke, at a bus stop of all places, and I was rushed to hospital.

Despite medication and steroids etc my baby girl was born four days later on September 14th 2003, weighing 2lb 2oz.

She stayed in the scbu for eight weeks before coming home and despite her prematurity she has had no problems whatsoever.

Lovely thread, ladies. I'm hoping to give my own success pictures in a year or so for my three gummybear gals! Very uplifting to see so many LOs doing so well!

My story started at 30Weeks. Went in for a routine check up and found out I was 1cm d and 50%effaced. Later that day I went into full blow labor and 5 days in the hospital being pumped full of meds I was released on bed rest. The next few Weeks I was in and out of the hospital with contractions, and pretty much in labor the whole time. Luckily I stayed at 4cm for a while.
At 35+4 my water finally broke and after a hard labor with induction my son was born at 35+5, exactly a month away from his due date. He was a great weight, 6lbs2oz, but severely jauniced. He had to be on the bili pad at all times and when I nursed him he had to have a portable bili pad under his clothing. He ended up losing a full pound in the week we spent in the hospital (luckily they let me stay).
His first picture:

He hadn't had any issues after the first month (he had to have a bili pad for 3 weeks when we went home and Dr visits 2x a week), been right on target with all his milestones. He is a tiny fellow, but has fat rolls in the right places! He even walked early, at ten months.

Here he is last week, he's such a ham! Gonna be turning one year in a few days.

Hi! My water broke at 34-3 and I had my daughter via emergency c-section at 35-0. I had a very difficult pregnancy (severe morning sickness the whole way through, dehydration and severe anemia...I was 145 lbs when I got preg and was 143 lbs the day I was admitted into the hospital to give birth) and due to she this was really underweight for her gestational age at 4 lbs 11 oz and 19 inches. She was in NICU for a week with breathing and feeding tubes and came home 4 lbs 6 oz. She's 8 months now, HUGE, crawling, pulling herself up, and has her two bottom teeth already.

at 5 months:

at 8 months with her two little teeth:
